Katy Raine-Cadenas received her BA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Always a creative person, Katy attended her first faux finishing class at The Faux Finish School in Louisville, Kentucky with renowned artisan Martin Alan Hirsch. The world of decorative painting proved to be a good fit for Katy. And in 2004 Katy headed for the warmer climate of Southwest Florida. Today, Katy lives and works with her husband Helton in Ft. Myers, Florida. Katy is proud to be a staff instructor at The Faux Finish School (www.fauxfinish.com) where she teaches in conjunction with her mentor Martin Alan Hirsch. Katy is also a licensed painting contractor in Lee and Collier counties. Katy and Antje continue to attend training, conventions and collaborate on projects as often as possible. Antje Zwink moved to Columbus from the German city of Dresden in 2001. Always surrounded by art and creativity by living in a cultural center, and by being part of a family with a history of woodcrafts, music, calligraphy and painting, Antje found her passion in decorative painting. With travels throughout Europe, decorative painting had always caught her eye and with her move to the United States, Antje started a two year artisan apprenticeship with Katy Raine-Cadenas of Bellallusions. Antje has benefited from Katy’s extensive knowledge of products and techniques (see above for Katy's training) but also learning hands on application of finishes in the real world. With Katy’s move to Florida in 2004, Antje founded Bellallusions Decorative Finishes by Antje Zwink LLC. Understanding the importance of education she continues to expand her repertoire through classes/workshops, national and international trade conventions and following trends and newest products by reading trade publications and participating in faux finishing message boards.
